Volunteers required by the Black Dog Institute!

Help them conduct research at the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival!

The Black Dog Institute is an organisation dedicated to advancing the understanding, diagnosis and management of mood disorders.
This mission is supported through a wide range of research studies, in addition to educational, clinical and community-based services.

The Black Dog Institute will be conducting an innovative study on exercise, mood and depression at the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival on Sunday 21st September 2008.
In order to do so, we will need a large team of volunteers to help us to survey runners in the events.  Volunteers would be trained and supervised by Institute staff.

This represents an excellent opportunity to gain experience in conducting field research, and to gain insight into the activities of the Black Dog Institute.
Students with an interest in mood disorders, health/sports psychology or research in clinical psychology may be particularly interested in volunteering.
A training session for volunteers will be held at 6pm on Wednesday 17th September at the Black Dog Institute in Randwick.
All volunteers will be given a certificate thanking them for their efforts.

For more information, or to register as a volunteer, please call Jo Crawford on (02) 9382 3769 or email

Your assistance is much appreciated!
