Campbell Perry International Travel Scholarships Awarded

Congratulations to Joanna Fardell and Susan Wardle who were recently awarded Campbell Perry International Travel Scholarships to visit research laboratories relevant to their PhD projects.

Joanna's research on animal models of cognition and chemotherapy is supervised by Dr Ian Johnston. Amongst other activities, the scholarship will fund Joanna's visit to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Toronto where she will receive extensive training in histological techniques.

Susan's research on surface segmentation in natural scenes is supervised by A/Prof David Alais. The scholarship will fund Susan's visit to the Schepens Eye Research Insitute at the Harvard Medical School where she will learn techniques for analysing images using filters and statistical methods in Matlab as well as generating synthetic natural images for experiments.

The Campbell Perry International Research Scholarship was established in 2005 to honour the memory of Distinguished Emeritus Professor Campbell Perry who completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Sydney.

Well done!
