The Gambling Treatment Clinic (GTC) is a free counselling service operating within the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. The clinic operates at three locations, these are: Darlington, Lidcombe and Camden, it also offers outreach services to other locations. The service is confidential.

The GTC provides individual face-to-face counselling, under the direction of Associate Professor Michael Walker. Professor Walker published a landmark book 'The Psychology of Gambling' (1992) and is considered an international expert in the field of problem gambling.

History of the GTC

The GTC at Darlington was established in 1999 funded by a grant from the Responsible Gaming Fund (RGF), a branch of the Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing in the NSW State Government. The RGF currently funds similar treatment services throughout the state. These services are provided free of charge to individuals with gambling problems and their families.
