Internship Requirements

Doctor of Clinical Psychology/ Master of Science (DCP/MSc)

Interns complete three internal internships in the University of Sydney Psychology Clinic, under the supervision of members of the Clinical Psychology Unit academic staff: Professor Stephen Touyz, Professor Alex Blaszczynski, Dr Caroline Hunt, Dr Louise Sharpe, Ms Judy Hyde, Dr Maree Abbott, Dr Sunny Lah, Dr David Horry, Dr David Hawes, Dr Paul Rhodes and Chantal Braganza. The internal internships are completed over the first year and a half of the DCP/MSc program.

Interns then complete three external internships in hospital and community health settings, under the supervision of Clinical Psychologists appointed to the University of Sydney as Honorary Associate Clinical Supervisors. The coordinator of external internships, Ms Judy Hyde, arranges and allocates students to external internships. The external internships are completed over the second year and a half of the DCP/MSc program.

The DCP/MSc program includes a minimum of 1500 hours of supervised clinical internship experience, where students are required to have gained a minimum of 600 hours of direct client contact.
