What to Bring
An enrolment form will be prepared for you at the Faculty of Science. You must come and enrol in person at the Faculty of Science. If you are unable to come in person on this day, please make sure that you organise a proxy enrolment on your behalf or contact the Faculty to make other arrangements. You should bring to enrolment with you your formal offer letter, identification, a passport size photo of yourself for your Student Identification card, your Tax File Number (if you elect to take out a FEE-HELP loan), a method of payment for your fees (credit card or personal/bank cheque), a blue or black ball-point pen. Please contact the Faculty of Science for accurate information.
Fees
The DCP/MSc is a full fee paying program. DCP students who have been offered full fee paying places are required to pay their fees up front at enrolment or submit an application for FEE-HELP (if eligible). In 2008, the fee for full fee paying local students is $340 per credit point. In the first year, students will be required to enrol in 24 credit points in Semester 1 and 24 credit points in Semester 2, a total of 48 credit points for the first year. The accurate fee payable will be determined at enrolment. Payments may be made by cheque or credit card. Unfortunately, cash or EFTPOS will not be accepted. Fees may be paid in full at the beginning of each year, or by semester at the beginning of each semester. A limited number of top ranked students may have been offered a HECS-based Commonwealth supported merit place. Students may choose to suscribe to a number of student organisations at their own cost: Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association (SUPRA), University of Sydney Union (USU), Students Representative Council (SRC).
Enrolment plan
Students must enrol in all units of study as outlined. For full time students, 48 credit points in first year and 36 credit points in second year. Variation to enrolment is not permitted.
Criminal Records check, Prohibited Employment Declaration form and an Adult Vaccination Record card
All students who will undertake Health Department placements or who undergo practical training in an environment in which they may come into contact with children, as part of DCP course requirements, will be required to fill out a Criminal Records check, Prohibited Employment Declaration form and an Adult Vaccination Record card. Forms are to be completed on enrolment. In 2006, Criminal Record checks are processed on 24 February, 13 March, 24 March.
