Full fee places for Local students
Students must satisfactorily complete 84 credit points of study to be eligible to graduate from the DCP/MSc. Local student coursework fees for the DCP/MSc are due up-front and are charged per credit point, 48 credits points in first year and 36 credit points in second year. The research component of the DCP (either MSc or PhD) is Research Training Scheme (RTS)-funded and therefore no coursework fees apply. Fees may change on an annual basis, subject to University discretion.
Research Training Scheme (RTS) is administered by the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DETYA) provides HECS Exemptions for Commonwealth-funded higher degree research (HDR) students for the duration of an accredited HDR course, up to a maximum of four (4) years' full-time equivalent study for a doctorate by research and two (2) years' full time equivalent study for a masters' by research. The RTS replaces the Research Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) Exemptions Scheme.
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) for Local students
The DCP/MSc is a full fee paying program, however, for local students, up to ten "HECS-based" Commonwealth supported places (CSP) awarded on academic merit, may be available, subject to University discretion and confirmation. The CSP places are classified as Student Contribution Band 3. The fees for CSP places are charged per credit point, 48 credit points for first year, 36 credit points for second year, and the third year is RTS funded therefore no coursework fees apply.
The HECS-based CSP places are awarded on academic merit and awarded to the most highly ranked applicants. Recipients must also be eligible for a Commonwealth supported place i.e. be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen. Recipients of the places must enrol AND REMAIN ENROLLED on a full-time basis, and are expected to accept the place in the semester of offer: no deferral will be permitted.

Full fee places for International students
For International students, please contact the International Office for accurate information. International student coursework fees are charged per year for each enrolled year of study. A minimum of three enrolled years for the DCP/MSc. International students who are eligible to transfer to a DCP & PhD must pay for each enrolled year of study, ie. for five years. International students are also required to pay for health insurance in Australia.

Students you may choose to subscribe to: Students' Representative Council (SRC), University of Sydney Union (USU), Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association (SUPRA - postgraduate students only) and Sydney University Sport (SUS - undergraduate students only). As of July 1 2006 voluntary student unionism legislation was introduced and subscription fees are no longer compulsory.
