Psychology Clinic Directions

The Psychology Clinic is located on the main University of Sydney campus in Camperdown.
The Clinic is situated in the Transient Building on Fisher Rd, adjacent to Physics Rd, with the closest entrance through the Main University gates at City Rd.

The Campus may be entered from the Main University gates at either City Rd, Parramatta Rd, Ross St or Carillon Ave. If entering through the main University gates at City Rd, pass the parking officers gate box, take the first street on the left, turn right at the T-intersection, and the Transient Building is the second building on the right. For access to the Clinic, follow the "Psychology Clinic" signs: to either the first entrance on Fisher road, or through the main Clinic entrance via the laneway at the rear of the Transient Building.

Public Transport to the Clinic

Bus

Public transport is easily available to the campus. Buses going along City Rd from the City to the University are: 422, 423, 426, 428. Buses going along Parramatta Rd from the City to the University are: 480, 483, 461, 412, 413, 438, 440. The Clinic is located close to City Rd. If you take the bus to Parramatta Rd, eg. Ross St or Footbridge Bus stops, you will need to walk across to the other side of the campus.

Train

The Clinic is a 15 minute walk Redfern Station. Exit Redfern station turning left onto Lawson St, turning left at the end into Abercrombie St. Walk along Abercrombie St for a while, then turn right into Codrington St. Follow Codrington St which leads into Butlin Ave. Butlin Ave joins the main University gates at City Rd. Cross City Rd, entering through the university gates. Take the first street on your left after passing the gatebox, then turn right at the next T-intersection, into Fisher Rd. The Clinic is on the ground floor of the Transient Building on Fisher Rd, the second building on your right. Alternatively, you can take the train to central and take a bus from Railway Square at Central to the main University gates at City Rd.

Driving to the Clinic

Public transport is highly recommended as on campus parking is very limited. Metered parking is available on City Rd and Parramatta Rd outside of clearway hours, and on the streets around the campus. There is free parking for up to three hours at the nearby Broadway Shopping Centre at the corner of Bay St and Broadway. Entry to the carpark is from Bay St. It is a short ten minute walk through Victoria Park to the University and the Psychology Clinic. Please note when driving, you can not turn right into the University at the City Rd gates when heading towards Newtown, and you can not turn right into the University on Parramatta Rd when heading towards the city.

Complimentary Parking on Campus for Clinic Visitors

Three complimentary 'Clinic Visitors' parking spaces are located in the laneway at the rear of the Transient Building. Clients must obtain a Clinic Visitor pass from the Clinic Administrator to be displayed on their car's dashboard. If the Clinic Visitor pass is not displayed a parking fine of $76 will apply. As there is considerable pressure on these parking spaces, complimentary parking can not be guaranteed. It is recommended that clients arrive early to find alternative parking at their own cost if a space is not available. Paid parking on campus is very limited due to current roadworks.

Clients attending groups and research programs are NOT eligible to park in the complimentary Clinic Visitors spaces, they must pay for parking (see below). On campus paid parking allows you to park anywhere on campus. If you do not pay for on campus parking a fine of $76 will apply.

Paid Parking on Campus for Clinic Visitors

  • PRICE: $24 FLAT RATE For entry from 6am up to 3pm. Allows parking until 6am the following day.
  • PRICE: $2 PER HOUR OR $6 MAXIMUM For entry after 3pm ONLY and exit by 6am the following day.

On campus parking is very limited and parking spaces can not be garanteed. On campus a Pay and Display system operates. Pay and Display machines dispense a printed ticket, which must be clearly displayed on the vehicle dashboard. Pay and Display machines accept $2, $1 coins. They do not accept notes. Drivers should come prepared with change. Machine is located in front of the Madsen Building and the Anderson Stuart Building. The Western Avenue Carpark and Shepherd St Carpark offer parking at a $4 hourly rate. The Western Avenue Carpark has a limit of 2 hours parking, but the Shepherd St Carpark has no limit.
