The Australian Learning Group mailing list is implemented
using Majordomo software. This is a perl program written to
handle routine administration of Internet mailing lists with as
little human intervention as possible. Note that when using this
system, commands should be placed in the body of the email,
NOT in the subject line.
The list server will immediately
respond to requests for information via email.
The mailing list was implemented for the transmission of information
such as:
news of ALG events
news of jobs and academic positions available here and overseas
requests for information and advice on technical matters
discussion of issues likely to be of general interest
location of others who share some special interest
Above all, this listing has the aim of making the 'Australian' Learning Group truly Australian, and not limited just to people in and around the Sydney region.
